Crofters Property Services are a local independent Letting Agency established in 1990. All websites and Lettings literature are owned and administered by us.
How We collect Information.
We obtain information about you when you register with us as an applicant looking for a property to rent or when you complete necessary application forms after having secured a property to rent.
What we collect
We may collect the following information. We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service.
Personal information collected is usually your name, address, telephone number and email address, together with details of your requirements in a home, this would typically include other questions such as whether you have any children, are a smoker, in full time employment or are an animal owner.
Once you have decided to rent a property from us in addition to the information laid out above you would need to provide extra information such as employers name & address, Any current landlords name and address, Personal addresses for the past three years (a credit search will be obtained via our reference company. Crofters will not be privy to details or your full credit report) and lastly the name, address, contact and current salary for your employers.
We will always require you to provide proof of identity which may be a photographic driving license, Passport, Residency Card or work permit. These documents will only be used by our third party referencing service provider in assessing your suitability to rent any given property. These documents will be securely destroyed once your application has been approved or declined.
You will be required to make certain payments in relation to your application. If you choose to pay via credit or debit card your card information is not held by us but is collected by our third party payment processors.
What we do with the information we gather
We will not sell or otherwise share your personal information to any third parties without seeking your written permission.
Third Party Service Providers
We will pass your information to our third party service providers, for the purposes of checking your reference information and to carry out right to rent checks and anti-money laundering checks. This information will have been provided by you when completing the application to rent form we would have supplied.
We disclose to our third party service providers only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service you have requested. Any information supplied is kept secure will not be used use for their own direct marketing purposes.
We may disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.
